This is a nice, quietly dynamic studio photograph of this chocolate colored cat by professional cat photographer,
Helmi Flick. The Havana Brown is a relatively
rare cat breed. It is an elegant cat with a slightly
slender profile (semi-cobby). Most breed standards allow a number of coat types and patterns but in this case it only allows chocolate (and lilac!). Maybe you have to be a chocolate lover to adopt an Havana Brown. The chocolate color is a rich, reddish brown in fact. The eyes are a light green. The name seems to originate in the color of Havana cigars. Apparently brown cats where brought over from Siam (Thailand) at the same time as the Siamese in the late 1800s. Breeders started to create and develop the breed in Britain in the early 1950s. You will find some complexities over naming this cat, which appears to vary depending where you are and which cat association recognises the breed.
