Putting catnip in the home diffuser (video)

A woman put catnip in her home diffuser and she has two cats. She videoed it and this is what happened but I have a word of warning for the person. The catnip is okay as we know catnip is not harmful to cats. But what about the essential oils in the home diffuser?

The Pet Poisons Helpline states that, in general, essential oils are poisonous to cats. They include in a long list: tea tree oil, eucalyptus oil, clove oil, pennyroyal oil, cinnamon oil, peppermint oil, Ylang Ylang oil, pine oils, sweet birch oil and oil of wintergreen in addition to orange oil.

We don't know what essential oils this diffuser is emitting if any at all but I am sure that this might be dangerous for the cats. In the video the cats don't seem to have responded particularly to the diffuser. It is a worry. It is all jazzed up with weird sounds. Nothing really happens but the oils might have an effect in the future.
