Please respect Helmi Flick's rights as she makes a living from photographing cats. This is a fine example of this breed and of cat photography. The American Bobtail cat should have a wild cat look and have the general appearance of an American bobcat. This cat is called "Hershey" and he certainly passes that test. He is a spotted tabby. The tail should be about 1.5 inches to 6 inches in length. This cat breed can be seen in short and long hair. This a strong and rather large cat. The muzzle should be somewhat square but not foreshortened. The American Bobtail is an easy-to-live-with cat. Read and see more on this breed on this page.
